Welcome to Nick's Home Page

I'm a postgrad in Southampton University Astronomy Group. I'm undertaking research into radio counterparts of faint X-ray sources with Prof Ian McHardy and Katherine Gunn. I am using very deep data from both MERLIN and the VLA. We hope to make deep radio maps down to 6-7uJy noise. This should be followed up by further deep X-ray data from XMM-Newton (seen here in orbit and being launched). My second year poster may be viewed here and my Second Year Report may be downloaded here

new! My poster from NAM 2002 may be downloaded here (warning this is in powerpoint so it's best to right click, save it and open in windows!).

new! My CV may be downloaded here (in word) or here (in postscript).

Hot off the press!!Well a month actually as I wanted to wait until I passed my viva. Here is my thesis (warning very large document 120MBs). An electronic version is available here. I am off to Paris now to work at the IAP. I'm still contactable at the email address below.Farewell Southampton!!
Here's a more compact version of the thesis (140 sides instead of 185). The main difference being the line and paragraph spacing, however the positioning of the pictures is not quite as perfect, but I hope that will not diminish your enjoment of this publication!
