Practical Information
Venue/Location
All events will be held at and around the Highfield Campus of the University of Southampton.
Each event will take place in the following locations:
- Check-in, Registration & Icebreaker: Chamberlain Hall post room & common room (see Accomodation below).
- Breakfast: Breakfast for all attendees will be served in the Terrace Bar, Building 38.
- Lectures: Lecture Theatre B, Building 46 (Physics Building)
- Coffee Breaks: Tea, coffee, and (in the morning break) pastries will be served in B46 room 2001 the glass-walled room next to the lecture theatre.
- Lunch Breaks: Lunch will also be served in B46 room 2001.
- Conference Dinner: The conference dinner on Wednesday 26th August will be served in the Blue Room, Building 38.

Accommodation
As part of registration, accomomodation will be provided for 5 nights from Sunday 23rd August. Check out will be on Friday 28th August. All guests will have a room in Chamberlain Hall just north of Highfield Campus, about 15 minutes walk from the main venue.

Check-in
Standard check-in is from 15:00 at Chamberlain post room, in Chamberlain Hall building B.
If you will be arriving for check-in after 19:30, you can collect your key fob from Glen Eyre main reception on the other side of the road.
Check-out
Standard check-out is 09:30 on Friday August 28th. All key fobs must be returned no later than 09:30 to Chamberlain post room.

By Air
Limited flights are available into Southampton Airport which is a 15-minute bus ride from Highfield campus.
London Airports: Gatwick (LGW) and Heathrow (LHR) are the nearest major airports with cheaper and more regular flights into the UK. Trains are available via London to Southampton. From London Heathrow the easiest option is to take a National Express bus, with stops at Southampton University and Southampton Coach Station. From London Gatwick the easiest option is to take the train, typically with a change at Clapham Junction.
By Train
Southampton Central (30 minutes bus to Highfield campus) and Southampton Airport Parkway (15 mins to Highfield campus) are stations with bus links directly to Highfield Bus Interchange, which is in the centre of the university's Highfield campus. Both stations are accessible on the same train line direct from London Waterloo or with 1 change at Reading from London Paddington Station. Plan and book tickets online here.
Getting Around Southampton
Public transport is plentiful in Southampton, but walking can be rewarding too!
Buses
Local Unilink buses are great for getting around the city, and run through the Highfield Bus Interchange on campus every ~10-15 minutes. Payments are via tap-on, tap-off contactless payments and only charge you the cheapest daily fare depending on your usage - £2.50 single, £4.10 dayrider. Plan your journey here.

Highfield campus to city centre (for Southampton central train station): U1C, U6C (25 mins)
City centre to Highfield campus: U1A, U6H (25 mins)
Highfield campus to Airport Parkway (for local airport and Southampton Airport Parkway train station): U1A (20 mins)
Airport Parkway to Highfield campus: U1C (20 mins)
Walking
The city is walkable, with accommodation at Glen Eyre in Chamberlain Halls only a 15-minute walk away from the conference location. Highfield campus to city centre is a 50-minute walk, passing Southampton Common.
Taxis
Taxis are also available throughout the city for ~£10 fares.
